Last Wednesday night I started having contractions around 8:30. Brylie was sick that day so we had taken her to the Dr earlier on in the day and she was on the verge of having strep throat as well as an ear infection; she would have gotten them if we didn't take her in. She got antibiotics and has been fine since. Anyway, I was holding and comforting her while Darin was out working on his truck with his brother and brother-in-law. I texted his brother to tell him to come inside cuz I needed to talk to him (dare left his phone inside) He told me they were in Idaho Falls getting some tools they needed, but that he would send him in when they got back. Finally about 10 Darin came in and I was in tears from the pain of the contractions. I told him to take Bry so that I could take a shower to see if that would help relax me or anything. I had been timing the contractions and they were about 7-8 min apart. We called the hospital and they said if they got 4-5 min apart and lasted a minute to go in. While I was taking a shower I was trying to time them and they lasted about 45 seconds, and by the time I got out and timed them they were every 3 mintues. I was terrified since I was only 35 1/2 weeks along! Brylie had just woken up so Darin tried to get her something to eat since she hadn't eaten all day and tried comforting her. I told Darin that I thought we needed to go to the hospital, these contractions were close and unbearable. We got his brother to stay at the house with Brylie while we went in. We drove to Rexburg and got to the hospital about 11:30pm. by the time they checked me it was 12:15 and by our surprise, I was at a 9! Darin called my parents to have my dad come up and help give me a blessing. ( I was terrified knowing I couldn't have an epidural, as well as knowing this baby was coming 4 1/2 weeks early) They wheeled me in to the delivery room where my Dr was waiting as well as a nurse from the NICU just in case, along with all the other nurses.(my parents had showed up in just 10 minutes, but it was too late) They broke my water and I immediately started pushing. Within about 10 mintues and a few pushes, Carter Darin Thurman had arrived! He was born on May 27, 2010 at 12:37 AM and wieghed 6 pounds 12 ounces and was 19 inches long. He was perfect, completely healthy! What a relief!
Brylie is an awesome big sister! She loves her brother! She always wants to hold him and kiss him and get her picture taken with him. She also comes up to him a lot throughout the day and says "hi Carter" and starts talking to him it is very cute! I am so blessed to have two beautiful healthy children, and a wonderful husband who is an amazing dad!
Our camera is broken so we had my mom take pictures, I need to get them put on my computer so I have them. There are a bunch posted on my facebook so if you want to look at them you can find me on facebook : )

Glad you made it to the hospital! When you're ready to go, you're ready to go. And even more happy he came out perfect despite being so early.
I'm glad your little boy is okay. I also had my 2nd child without an epidural (fast delievery like you). Glad everything went okay. Having 2 kids is also crazy at times, but it gets better.
I think that natural child birth is unnatural and that we should come with a zipper or something because it is so not cool and so incredibly painful! I am glad that he is so healthy! He would have been a big boy if he had waited to come! Congratulations and way to go!
Glad everything went well! Congrats on a new little one and good luck!
That is fantastic that everything went so good. He sure is a handsome little guy.
Congrats! That is so exciting! I hope you are all doing well & I can't wait to see pictures :)
I am so happy for you... congrats you told that story and I almost cried! Congrats on the new baby boy and the beautiful daughter!
